Was you neurologist from a major hospital? The drainage from you ear seems to be a concern. Never heard of that with migraine type pain.
Perhaps seeing a ETN would be helpful.
With the disc problems you might try a chiropractor that specialize in neurologic pain. I went to one for years with great success until my insurance changed and would not cover the doc anymore.
I also tried accupuncture with moderate success, however I am now on disability and can no longer afford it.
