Hello, I'm a 17 year old male and would appreciate some answers concerning migraine with aura. We'll to start I've had ocd since I was 10. Not sure if this has anything do to with what I'm about to describe but just throwing it out there. Approximately 8 months ago I started seeing flashing lights in my bedroom at night which occurred every day. 2months later it got worse. Way worse. I was driving home from the last football game senior year and I saw red circles floating throughout my whole vision for about 30 seconds. I was freaked out. I thought I was freaked out. Every single day for the past 6 month I have multiple visual disturbances a day mostly seeing colors. For example, coming home and seeing red circles on the floor. Playing beach volleyball and seeing green shapes all on the sand, seeing small blue spots in the air when I'm driving. Sometimes I shut my eyes and still see the colors and the exact same form when I open but eyes. Laying in bed in the dark and seeing black circles or flashing lights on the ceiling. Lately I have even been seeing shadows. This occurs every single day. At least once throughout the day my brain will just like freeze up and I know what's going on but I takes like 30 seconds to get my vision back because I'm just like out of it... Is this migrain with aura??? I'm scared it might be a psychotic disorder because my ocd causes extremely strange thoughts also if it's ocd... But anyway does anyone have any experiences with these symptoms? Also, and advice on what I should do. I'm planning on going to college august 20th and will be turning 18 august 18th. I GREATLY appreciate ANY advice. Thanks

I highly doubt it is psychotic. I experience the colors and shapes
almost every am.

I use controlled breathing and mindfulness to deal with my issues along with medications.

I strongly suggest you let your doctor know 100% what is going on before you leave for college. You want to be on the correct meds to you can focus at your best.

This site is a good place to start for breathing exercises and calming techniques to help with headaches and even OCD.
