Hi everyone:

I post on some of the other boards. I am on week 3, trying to overcome a bad virus. The coughing is terrible. I did see a Doctor who prescribed Omnaris nasal spray and cough syrup to try to get things moving better. I am still coughing in the day but I have been able to sleep at night for 4 days now. I had one night where I could not fall asleep for hours. I saw that one cough syrup may cause sleeplessness. I now just take it in the day. This is a very bad virus. I have been drinking plenty, tea with honey and lemon, water, steam and juice. I take Vitamin C every day. I use Vicks and even tried it on my feet. It is just taking a long time to overcome. This virus has been notorious at waking me up coughing, not letting me sleep. I was also having trouble blowing my nose. Not much was coming out and it just made me start coughing more. I felt when it started like something was blocking my ability to blow my nose. Omnaris has helped some.

I have had headaches for 12 years. Never a day without pain. I read about sinus pain and it sounded like what I am experiencing. I went a few years back to an ENT. I asked him about sinuses. He recommended the product Neil Med nasal rinse and I have used it since. I find that when I have a virus and for a span after I have recovered that I get green mucous with or without blood attached. I keep washing it out. I have had, about 5 years ago, a number of tests to see what is happening in my sinuses. The Doctor looked at my sinuses and could not see anything. Had a CT scan. At that time nothing abnormal was found. I do have a slight deviated septum but surgery was not considered. I told the ENT that I was still washing out mucous with blood. He said he could not treat me as he cannot see anything wrong. I was also told by another Doctor that green mucous does not necessarily mean that you have an infection. So, I just live with it. Prior to my present virus I had a long span of clear mucous.

I know at present that my sinuses are contributing to my problems. My head is in much pain. I had to cancel my appointment with my Headache Doctor due to being ill. I don't believe he can do nerve blocks when I am sick. I am again washing out green mucous and blood when I use the nasal rinse.

I have been told that my jaw pain is from Neuralgia and I have accepted that but I know at present my sinuses are not in healthy shape. I switched cough syrup for a dry cough to an all in one brand to see if it helps better.

Does anyone have sinus problems and is it a cause of your headaches?

If you have neuralgia, daily head pain most likely is being triggered by this, compounded by your chronic sinus condition.

When you are better, I suggest making an appoint ment with a
neurologist that understand neurolgias.

I suffer migrain from many reasons. I hope you can get UR sorted out soon. Sometime I can get a sinus infection and anti biotics can stop it in its tracks. Sounds like it could be a sinus infection?
Hope UR better soon!
