For the past five months
, I've had frequent headaches and ice-pick like headaches
. The pain initially started as a quick pulse in a localized area in my head, which would occur randomly throughout the day. I still get these, but not as often. When I do get them, they tend to last for days. Just random pulses/throbs of pain in my head. The thing is that, I almost never had headaches until this year. I did have migraines when I was much younger, but they have since passed
. Although, I did have my first migraine in quite sometime this year due to it. I'm sedentary most of the day
, sitting down quite a lot. My posture is not the best. These symptoms come and go
. I can go a few days without feeling much if anything at all, but then after that I'll usually have a week of constant headaches or ice-pick like headaches. This absolutely amplified in hot weather
. Considering I'm in Australia, and it is currently summer, I've been getting this a lot. I've had a CT of my brain scan a few months ago, which came out clear
. I'm scheduled to see a neurologist in February, because no doctors know what it is.
At the moment, I feel it could likely be a compressed nerve in my neck/back
... I crack my neck constantly, as well as my back. I don't know. I'm really desperate for answers. I'm very much afraid that it could be something fatal
. It's made these five months of my life absolute hell, mentally. Because I never know what this is. The pain is often tolerable, but the mental strain is taking it's toll. I really need answers...
As I type this, I've had a headache daily for three days now as it has been very hot here. It generally builds up during the day and hits its peak in the late afternoon. I usually resort to using painkillers to relieve it. I haven't had the 'ice pick' headache in quite sometime, but I know it'll be back soon.
I forgot to mention that the ice pick headaches used to occur near the front of my head, now they occur nearer to the back. Much like my headaches. Although, my headaches can occur all around my head, but generally tend to be on the top of my head or at the back. Very rarely at the front.
