Off and on until my 30's, I was diagnosed with "classic migraines" which during the actual headache, I experienced terrible and
debilitating pain, vomiting and sometimes most forceful diarrhea. Also, streaks of life and often inability to see. Dark rooms, cold towels, quiet and no cooking smells were my comfort choices. I did take imitral and another med of which I cannot recall the name. I was a patient at a Johns Hopkins clinic in Puerto Rico for three days and after the prescription suggestions which I took, the headaches just seem to cease after about 5 years. Not really knowing what triggered them.
I am in my 60's now, have severe sinus and some allergy issues especially when a new weather front is trying to enter. To balance the pressure in my home when the heat is on, I open a window in my bedroom. Almost the instant the front fades or it begins to rain, my headache actually goes away quickly.
This year (2015) I have had more migraines since Jan than I believe I have had in the last 5 years combined. They getting progressively worse with each headache. All seem to be related to the barometric pressure. 2 days ago, the headache came on so quickly, I began having not just constant projectile vomiting but additionally, extremely forceful diarrhea. I lost some much fluid in a short period of time, over 7 or 8 hours all the while the headache continued to increase in pain. Aura's, inability to see clearly and a rather large fluid loss resulting in dehydration. I slept - tried to for almost 16 hours getting up often to vomit or eliminate. I was really surprised as to how violent and forceful the vomiting and diarrhea became. Actually, I am not sure of the diarrhea as all that was eliminating was fluid.
The headache dissipated as the weather front moved. Any suggestions for nip the pain, and vomiting and diarrhea? I tried chewing some ginger gum but to no avail. The smell of coffee and bacon in my house triggered a more intense headache - and will mention here, many odors trigger these headaches.
