I read a post here about taking iron supplements to reduce migraines. I was advised by some relatives to take supplements for migraine but I haven’t tried anything yet. Did it really help lessen migraine attacks?

I tried CalMag, which people say has helped them, but it didn't help me. Mine seem to be hormonal... I haven't heard of iron supplements helping, but I have UC, and I know those are rough on the gut so I try to avoid them.

I have heard of magnesium really helping. Nothing really helped for me except peppermint. I tried magnesium and butterbur for my migraines as a natural treatment before.

I do think that it is worth trying!!!

Thanks for the replies notsosicklygirl and Clairenicole87! I tried iron supplements for a month and it did not help lessen the migraine attacks. I'll try the peppermint this time. How do I use it by the way? Tea, oil or pill?
