So this is my first post.

I just spent 4 days in the hospital for the DHE 45 infusion as well as Depakote via IV and other IV fluids. My history of migraines has been over the past 20 years...

In the last 2 months, they have become unbearable and daily!! Lasting 24 hrs to 3 days. I take the Sumatriptan injections (Imitrex) that have stopped doing their job. I also take Indocin as of most recent... My hospital stay was supposed to help knock these suckers out but to no avail they did not.

I was sent home on a week of Prednisone as well as Depakote to taper down over 3 weeks... I have to go back in to see my Neuro on Thursday for an early follow up instead of a 3 week as scheduled..

Is there anyone out there that can help me with any advice or coping mechanisms that may work?

I am a mom of 2 boys (2 1/2 and 9 1/2), I work full time. These migraines have totally affected my daily life where it is nearly impossible for me to interact with my children and work.. I do now know what to do with myself... On a scale of 1-10, these migraines are a 15!!!! Something has got to give!!!!

Have you tried the botox injections? I have a friend that was having daily migraines and after just one treatment of botox she is down to 2 migraines a week, she is due in a couple weeks for the next dose, needs to be done every 3 months.

I have not... BUT I am not opposed to it. I was going to mention that to my MD when I go in to see him on Thursday... I do also have Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Both diagnosed last year. I don't know if these can be a contributing factor. But it is just strange how this all just started over just over 2 months ago!! So frustrating!!

I feel your pain, I used to get migraines and daily headaches up until 2 years ago when my doctor prescribed verapamil for my high blood pressure. One of the side effects of that med is it works on migraines and cluster headaches. I've been migraine free and only a handful of headaches ever since.

Thank you... So should I mentioned. This medication? ? Did you have any side effects when you started it? I never mentioned that I do take 200mg of Topamax each morning. I am un sure if he will want to up my dosage. And he did mention a BP med prior to my hospital stay but I hate being a guinea pig. I in general have very low BP, typically 94/70. So taking BP meds makes me a little nervous but at this point I am willing to give it a try...

I feel your pain as well. I was diagnosed with chronic daily headaches/migraines exactly 3 years ago. I have tried everything and anything with no success. I am still researching other options. I have heard Lyrica on several occasions that may help with the headaches. I understand that it is prescribed to people with Fibromyalgia and may work for headaches as well. This was one of the options my neuro suggested. Have doctors tried suggesting that to you?

Hi, this is my first post, I want to stop my daily migraine auras, I had these since I was pre teenage, I am now 55. The incidence has recently increased dramatically, I never get a headache. I fell off a horse once aged 12 and didn't get the aura for about 5 years, then it came back, sometimes years apart.
For the last few months I have them twice a day or more, making many simple tasks very difficult. My doctor assures me they are not normally connected to anything else. I do occasionally have vertigo which I have medication for, would this medication help?

I just want these visual disturbances to stop but I am so relieved I don't get a headache
