Is it possible that a migraine could cause my sense of taste to change? I'm on day 2 of my current migraine and I've noticed that everything I've eaten since it started either tastes bland, or slightly off (and I know its fresh).

I don't know if a migraine can do that, but I wouldn't be surprised. They can do some weird things. I do know that if you take topamax as a preventative it can change how things taste. With my aunt and sister topamax made soda taste really weird. For me, everything tasted a little weird, some things more than others. I did notice when I was taking zonisamide that it made everything taste very bland. It might be helpful to also post any medications you take because taste change could be a side effect.

Apart from standard painkillers like panadol and codiene the only migraine specific treatment I take is rizatriptan and I didn't have it with this migraine because I had run out. The other medications I take on a daily basis I have been on for years so I would be suprised if one of then was the cause.

Sorry I can't help you there. Hopefully someone else who has experienced this or is more knowledgeable can answer your question.
