Has anyone with migraines or headaches tried cutting all artificial sweeteners? And if so, did you notice any changes or improvement?

I'm on my 1st day without any artificial sweeteners and I believe they could be tied to some low-grade headaches I've been having. My low-grade headaches are semi-constant and seem to have started about the time I switched to eating Quest bars daily, which have a fair amount of Sucralose (also known as Splenda).

Yes, they are definately tied to mine.

Artificial sweetners, ingredients of any kind, yellow and red food dies also.

It will take and 72 hours to notice a difference.

Drink at least 2 quarts of water a day, unless you have another medical issue that prohibits it.

Anyone else notice a correlation with artificial sweeteners and headaches? The reason I ask is that everything I read on the internet says "more research required" and "no definative proof" and such. But there seems to be an underlying theme of personal reports here and there that there is a correlation with some folks. I just curious if it really is that common or not.

I'm at 72 hours right now (with no artificial sweeteners) and feeling pretty good. I hope today is a good day.

Side note: today I'm at about 6 days from having any artificial sweeteners. I've got to say...I feel WAAAAY better! I hope that was the cause and I've found it.

The first 72 hours w/o any artificial sweets were better but not entirely. Since then, I've been about 95% headache free.

Hoping you can benefit from my finding :-)

I ditched artificial sweeteners, sugar, and honey three months ago and now uses stevia plant extract to sweeten tea and other beverages. I bought a pot of stevia plant together with other potted herbs that I have been using to flavor foods. You can see the health benefits here
