Donny, sorry for the slow reply, I myself have been having some bad days. I am going for a new med change soon.

For 5 years I saw a Neurologist who specialized in migraine, trigeminal neuralgia and cluster pain. All under the umbrella of migraine, diff types of pain character.

I did well until he passed this last July. I am now with the Penn. Univ Headache Center in Phila. Wheels turn slower here, I wanted to try meds at home first, they did not work.

Body changes, I have nerve damage that could be progressing, so the meds are not working like they use to. Finally I have agreed to go aggressive and will be in hospital 1/12/16 for iv meds to break cycle and start/stop medications.

I have been to John Hopkins in Md, for diagnosis.

Cleveland Clinic is a good diagnositic hospital.

The Mayo Clinic is also a resource.

John Hopkins is 3 hours from where I life, Philadephia is 25 min.

You will have to decide if travel is worth a correct diagnosis and start on proper meds. Then most times they have referrals for your local area.

I hope this helps.

Hi Trina
Thank you for your reply. I live in Cape Town, South Africa. I have been to neurologists and the headache clinic. I have been seen by a professor of neurology. Taken numerous meds and been addicted to OTC pain killers as well, cause of migraines. Now am getting muscle relaxant injections in my back and neck, but I think its starting to not work. Am sensitive to sunlight and heat. All the normal triggers I have as well.

Private medical care is very expensive over here and public health is not good.

Hey donny

I'm so sorry to hear about your condition.

If I may ask what is the diagnosis of the neurologist? and what was the result of the MRI or CT scan?

Headaches or migraines can be caused by numerous things. I think it's pivotal to know it's origin.

However I'm glad to hear that muscle relaxant injections are working for you. I urge you to have control

over it since you already mentioned that you were addicted to OTC painkillers at one point.

Be careful and if you need anyone to talk to just give us a chat.

Hey Jules
My MRI scan showed nothing. My current doctor diagnosed tension headaches due to stress. But these headaches are severe and daily. Its very dibilitating at times that my work suffer and spend more days at home. There so many other issues that come up with my health since these headaches started 5 years ago.

I have not been pain free in 4 years. Every possible remedy or alternative doctors and medicine I have tried with no success. I am sometimes at peace with living with the pain, but when its really bad I wish that just die in my sleep.

Am living a life full of pain and another life trying not to show it. People don't like people complaining about their health. So am just tired of this constant battle.

Donny,

Even though I am on medication. I also use meditation for pain relief. The medication does not do 100% by any means.

The meditation is not the "OM" kind, there are many types of meditation that work for different people.

I have copied a link for you to investigate, I suppose there are more out there, however I know this is a true and safe one. I hope some information here will help you.

Meditation takes some practice, does not work well the first time, the results get better the more you do it.

Do you wake up with these headaches? If so, if can be Sleep Apnea. The carbon dioxide goes up and causes brutal morning headaches.

I wake up with headaches in my eyes mostly. What can I do? I have tried OTC meds, prescription meds. There must be something all natural to help. Any suggestions? Thank you!
