I have tried many types of migraine relief and finally the imitrex injects work. Recently however, I have been getting a very hot searing pain shooting up the back of my neck, then traveling to the top of my head, immediately after giving myself a shot. My doctor has never heard of this before. Does anyone else get this effect with their shots? It goes away along with the migraine within 15 minutes, but it's just a very odd thing and I'd like to know what's going on.

I also use the Imitrex injections and experience a very hot flash of pain. Mine really doesn't go anywhere but the injection site (usually on my hip or thigh) but man oh man... do I feel your pain! It is worth the experience to get rid of the migraine though (for me). I would just about chop my own head off during a migraine if I could see enough to get to the kitchen! LOL! I don't think I would worry too much about it if I were you (though that is just my opinion) but I would keep my doctor informed especially since the pain goes up into your brain.... That sounds kind of scary. Good luck in your quest, and if you find out what it is, please post so that I will know too!
