Good morning everyone!

I was wondering if anyone had tried the Omega Procedure from Migraine Centers of America?

I have received information on it and am speaking with one of their doctors tomorrow over the phone, as the closest location to me is in Dallas TX, which is still about 5 1/2 hours from me.

If I am a candidate for the procedure, I will do the trial procedure. They will place the neurostimulator externally for 4-7 days. According to their information, this has worked for 4 out of 5 qualified chronic migraine patients.

If the trial is successful, they will implant the wires & neurostimulators under the skin and place the small battery pack under the skin in either the lower back or upper buttock area (some say they can place it around the clavicle area as well).

Hopefully this is something that will work, since I have been suffering for 15+ years with migraines and they have gotten worse over the past 2 years!

If you have tried this, please post your experiences (positive or negative)!

Thank you,
Brandi

Hi Brandi,

I looked into this 5 years ago. My view is negative. You may not want to read it. Things may have changed in 5 yrs, I don't know.

I chose not to do the procedure because the 'constant' [to me] operations to change the batteries. Restrictions on physical activities. Did not like the idea of something being so close to my spinal cord. They say low to no risk. However, I will take the chronic pain over being paralized.

I wish you all the best
Peace

Thank you BnotAfraid!

The information that I have read states the location of the battery pack can go near the collar bone. Also, they have discovered no limitations on physical activities as of now.

I appreciate your post! I am wanting to hear ANY information! :)

Have a great day!
