Hi everyone! I am a 32 years old woman and have migraine with and without visual aura since 17.
I usually have auras once a year, but I've also been almost 3 years without them twice in my life.
Almost 3 months ago, I started having more frequent episodes of migraine with aura, I think I've had more auras in those 3 months than my entire life! .
I get them once a week or even every five days. My neurologist, who specializes in migraines, sent me to do an MRI of the brain and blood vessels and everything came up normal, he says that is probably electric because I had been under a lot stress and it seems I have a small hormonal imbalance that made me have irregular periods since a few months. He put me on Lamotigine and Im waiting for the medicine to work.
Another thing that I know for sure is that this new frequency came up exactly two days after I went off of SSRI (Lexapro). ( I decided to stop the SSRI because we want to have a baby.
As it is the first time in my life that my frequency of auras has changed, I wonder if this is something normal that can happen to someone who have migraine with aura. I feel so sad about all this and been taking medication again now that we were planing to have a family make my life so miserable and Im starting to thing that I will have this new frequency for the rest of my life. sad
I will appreciate your comments and experiences, Thanks!

Welcome.
I have auras everyday all day. So bad when I wake up I can't see for 30min. BuT except for the bright flashes of light, they are beautiful colors and shapes.

Keeping hydrated helps.

Meditation and mindfulness helps.

When I slow my self down auras ease up.

Peace
