I've had migraines since I was a child. I started taking medication when I went to college to help me get through college. I had them somewhat under control. They got worse after my wife and I got married (we didn't live together before we got married). They changed: as a child I got migraines mid-afternoon which got progressively worse into the evening; now I woke up with migraines in the morning. They come and go but right now I'm averaging about 15-20 a month in the medium-severe range. I experiance some form of head pain every day.

My wife was gone for a week with my 8 month old son visiting relatives over Christmas (I didn't have enough vacation time and she wanted to stay longer) While she was gone I had a break in my migraines. The whole week. I think it is a coincidence - but she came back, migraine this morning.

I had my migraines pretty well under control before we were married, 1-2 severe ones month (I wasn't complaining). After that I didn't immediately have problems but they ramped up. Bad insurance, I didn't see a doctor for about a year. He put me on Topamax. After tweaking the dose it worked wonders for about 5 months (IE: i was back to where I was before I met my wife, 1-2 severe migraines a month, plus 5 mild ones), until now. We are working on it and I like what my doc is doing.

Hormones? Scents? I have been known to get scent-triggered migraines (perfume, alchohol, etc). She doesn't wear perfume at home and uses mild soap for my benefit... which was still in the shower while she was gone. Light to no makeup.

Again I'm inclined to believe I just got lucky last week without having a migraine but it begs to ask the question if theres something there that triggers me.

Be interested to hear if anyone has had similar experiances. (My neurologist also thought it was odd that I only seem to get migraines at night. Havent proposed this idea to him yet)

Yes, we get along very well. Married 2 years as of last month. Our son is 8 months old and is very healthy.

I'm really not under any stress. Good job, working on my masters, etc. We used to be under a lot of stress 6 months ago (relationship was fine, but I was still in school and only had a part time job, tight on money, she was pregnant, etc...) but my headaches were actually better back then :) I actually think some stress is good for me...

Again, she uses a mild scented soap. We use the same generic shampoo. She uses unscented deodorant and other unscented products. Doesn't wear perfume or makeup unless we are going out. No coincidence with monthly cycles (and she is breastfeeding right now so that is not an issue anyways). Its just odd.
