Hi,
i am going to have a head MRI scan soon(in Mar) cause of frequent migraine and headache the past few months.
the doc say i won't be sedated and i will get a IV and they will inject some dye.
the doc want a mri cause i have NF1 which the doc scared that there might be a tumor growing in the brain.
some questions smile
How does the dye feel when they inject it?
How long will it take?

Thanks

You probably had your MRI by now, how did it go?

I had contrast and it was no big deal. Felt kind of warm. I don't remember how long it took. You do have to check in and do the whole procedure, so overall, it can take a couple hours, but I think the time in the tube is only 40 minutes or so. They pulled me out to inject the dye and I went back in.

it went well. 30min into the MRI the tech came in took me out and inject the dye. cause i wasn't give an IV they need to use a needle to inject it. All i feel is the needle poke. then i was put back in 15min later it was done
also got my result, was normal. they say the headache/migraine is caused by my condition(NF1)
no tumor.

AB,

I have been on Amitriptyln for 4 months now, up to 25mg at night. I find the med is working for me and is reducing the daily chronic pain over all. We will continue to increase up to 50mg, I believe.

Peace

I am happy your results showed nothing unexpected. I feel like I might be headed back to needing migraine treatment. I've had 2 or 3 this month and they last 1-2 days. It's awful. Hopefully it was just a bad month and things go back to normal.

Sounds like your MRI experience was pretty similar to mine.
