Hello All! I am wondering has anyone been prescribed Cymbalta for migraines? I just started 3 days ago and the nausea and lightheaded feelings are bugging me.

Yes, I used it for 5 years and it worked wonders for me!

I had to come off because its generic did not work for me, I tried all 3.

Cymbalta is a tricky med. You must take it with food, toast and milk; yogurt; bowl of cereal etc.

Water is important, stay away from coffee, tea, SODA will only make your nausea worse. Ginger ale is the only exception. This will help to calm your stomach, ginger tea also.

Keep saltines handy, nibble a first, get 4 or 6 down.

The dizzy gets better with water, I drink 33-44 oz a day because my med combo does the same to me as cymbalta did.

The side effects DO lesson in time, mine took about 6 weeks, some people take less time. IF the med is reducing you pain and none of these suggestion work for you. ASK you doc for nausea med, there is once out there that is a tiny melt away tab that works great. I do. not remember the name.

I had bad headaches which looked like migraines as would calm down in dark .

But got them on Cymbalta ,since off on it ....I rarely have any headaches like them at all.

looks like Cymbalta is a tricky drug(i was on generic too_still expensive)

I no longer will go on it ever as gives extreme nausea to a point I could not function.

Fr fibro --need to find a different rx.

Cilly,

Thank you for sharing.

I am so sorry you had that experience.

It is important to show this contrast, as medications effect individuals differently.

What may work for one, might not work for another. That is why it is so important for all of us to talk to our doctors about medications, side effects when starting or weaning.

Peace
