Haven't posted is a long time. I am the mother of a chronic migraine suffer. My daughter, 22 has had migraines since she was 6. She was also diagnosed with cluster headaches as well. Her big trigger is the weather, barometric pressure etc. My daughter has tried many types of medication (too many to list) as well as non traditional treatments ie: acupressure, acupuncture, chiropractor etc. All of which have not helped. She is presently taking 100mg of topamax 2x/day. At this point in time she is under the care of our GP. We will be looking into a specialist. My question is, what type of specialist should we be looking for? We live on the East coast and are accessible to PA and NY. Any and all recommendations would be welcome! The new injection sounds promising, but I know she is nervous about having to wean off the Topamax first before she can try it. Thank you for letting me go on. It has been a long, frustrating, painfully slow road for my daughter.
