Hi I have had migraines dor 6 years now. Triptans work great for me. Yesterday I got what I thought was a migraine. My typical migraine is only on the right side by my eye and jaw bone. Yesterday my whole head atarted hurting. I couldn't even stand up I'd get sick. I could only afford 1 maxalt, usually that would do. It took the pain away so I could sleep but soon as I woke up It was back just as bad. Can anyone please help me? I am afraid to go to the ER, they give me compazine and that gives me akathesia. HELP PLEASE. I wish I could die rather that deal with this everyday.

Hello to Trickey280. I am experinceing simular type headaches migraines. I have pain mostly on the right side of the head. when i bend even for a couple a second i can feel the pressure starting and have to stand up right so the pain goes away. Also feel some nasuea because of it as well. Although i have not been dianosed with migraines im sure that is what it is. If it continues over along period of time i would strongly recommend going to the hospital as that is what i will do if this pain continues for me. I know it is hard to do but don't give up. Hope u find the help u need. Twiggy2

Hi Trickey, welcome to Healing Well. Sorry that your headaches have become so bad. It maybe that you need to consult a doctor of some sort as, if the headache is coming back the next day the Maxalt is not doing its job or you may need to try another Triptan. Either way you need some medical advice, we will support you as best we can sharing our own experiences, but this should not be a replacement for your Doctor.

I take Imigran (Imitrex - Sumatriptan) as an injection which I administer myself as needed. Originally I was prescribed the injection as the vomiting with the Migraine was overwhelming. I still experience vomiting sometimes but not all the time now. My Migraines have evolved over the years from an attack always being on the left side to some attacks being quite central and deep in my head (these attacks produced the worsed vomiting) to having pain on my right side aswell, but the attacks are predominantly on the left side of my head.

I hope you are able to find some relief very soon, please let us know how you get on, I will pray for you, best wishes Ann.
