My brother has started getting headaches only recently for about a week now that occur only at night time which im a bit concerned about. He says he has a pulsating feeling on the temples and back of his head with a tightness feeling on the back of his neck which is worsened when he moves his head in certain positions. I gave him an anti-inflammatory which had helped to give some relief but not completely kill it. I am sort of familiar with those sort of headaches but that was when i first developed chronic daily headache which was told was due to meds over-use. I am uncertain about these and would be grateful if someone can give advice. I hope it is just a phase and will pass over but I want to be safe.

does the headache symptoms i described sound like a migraine? i ask this cause my migraines seem to be quite different but ofcourse it does differ from each individual plus i asked if he had any symptoms that he could recognise before a migraine occured that he said he didnt but it is early days...im hoping its just a tension type.

Hi timur, it sounds like your brother is experiencing a combination of tension headache and migraine, its like the chicken and the egg story which comes first the tension or the migraine? - they can both get very mixed up together in my experience. But I would recommend that your brother should be checked out by a Doctor with this. Hope he gets some relief soon, take care Ann.
