Hey folks,

I just started taking Cafergot to use as an abortive.  I was taking Stadol NS, but I was going through it way too fast, so I decided to try something else.  I've tried pretty much everything else, so this ergotamine family is the last thing available.  Let me know what your experience has been if you take it or have tried it.  My first experience wasn't very good, so I'd be very appreciative for anyone else's experience.

Thanks,

Leigh Ann cool

Hey,
I am no doctor and i am just a new user here.
But i have been having migraines since 11 years ago.
the best way to treat migraines is to always be calmed, dont rush in anyway.
Dont eat anything sour, specially with vitamin C.
From my experience with migraine,
Ergotamin is the ONLY way to stop a migraine completely.
but only start paracetamol tablets, it will make it go away if u took it after the early sign of migraine, if the migraine didn't go away,
at the end of the day, just take one tablet of Ergotamine.
What i mean is that, dont take much of ergotamine...

Just to update you on the ergotomine, the version I was prescribed was Cafergot, which is ergotomine plus caffeine.  I really need the version that adds belladonna and pentobarbitol, to help the headaches and minimize the nausea and erratic heartbeat.  It is next to impossible to find it now.  I could only find it by going through Walgreens-by-Mail, called Cafetine PB.  Now I have to convince my Doctor to write me a prescription for it, and it is NOT inexpensive.  It runs about a dollar a pill, but it will be worth it if it gets the job done.  Right now I've gone back to the Stadol Nasal spray, but it just doesn't do the job unless you catch the Migraine right at the beginning.  I'm not even taking a preventative anymore, because I went them all, with nothing seeming to make a difference.

Will keep you posted,

Leigh Ann cool
