This is only for people with high blood pressure. For years I had high blood pressure and doctor did not tell me, he thought I was having something called "white coating", in which you have high blood pressure only when you see the doctor.

I was to learn I had an irregular heartbeat with the high blood pressure and when that was resolved, with medication I no longer suffered with migraine.

Now there is something new out called Olmesartan, sold under the name "Benicar".When this is taken for High Blood pressure it had the added benefit of preventing Migraines.

Too often Doctors brush headaches patients aside. When if they ran tests they would find the cause of headache pain.  I suffered for 20 years daily. Now my life is a joy. I wake up pain free.

Be sure and have your blood pressure checked and always ask, what is it please?

Hope this helps.

You are so lucky to have the high blood pressure migraines, for which there are many medications with which to work.  I have the opposite problem, low blood pressure, usually 90/60 or around that ballpark.  I also run a low pulse rate, which doesn't help either.  Because of this, I didn't have good results with many preventative medications.  I constantly had the room-zooms from the blood rushing from my head.

Consider yourself blessed to achieve this success.  It is always so good to find suffers like your self find relief.

I think I see what you are saying...but having high blood pressure is NEVER a good thing...

maybe a different choice of words? lesser of two evils

My dad had high blood pressure and when they put him on propanolol he noticed a decrease in the number of migraines per month.

I got the lucky Migraine genes it seems: The first medication we tried for migraines was propanolol but it didn't do much for me. My blood pressure is a bit high but not severe. It helps some people, glad its working for you :)

I am interested in this medication.

As I have been suffering for 2+ years with High BP and constant headaches.

I have taken Beta Blockers, Ace Inhibitors etc and nothing seems to get the BP down or my headaches.

I am currently on Adipene and my BP is normally 165/98  and nothing much changes this.

I will ask my Dr on the next visit.

Cheers

Sarah
