last night i got a migraine. i havn't had one for a while so i think it may have been caused by the meds i recently went on.
it started off with the numbess in my hand.. then.. flashes.. numb mouth .. then that hell evil pain / vomiting etc
but i wanted to know if it is normal to also feel weird... i always get this feeling like i am brain damaged or something. i remember once it happened on the computer and i wasn't able to spell words correctly and couldn't speak that well.

do others have this? it's quite a scary feeling at the time

Hi crohndi,

I have this all the time. It's part of my aura. I'm not sure if you're experiencing the same thing. But it feels like my brain is encased in jello or something. Extremely difficult to think, I have trouble talking when I get like this. Not so much with the spelling really, but it just feels like my tongue is paralized.
If you have meds to ward off an attack like zomig or one of the other triptans, that's a perfect time to use it. A lot of the time you can stop from getting to the pain and nausea all together.
I hope this helps.
But if there is one thing I know...you need to let your doctor know about it. Because it happened after you started another medication and although I have similar symptoms you might be going through something else. Always better to be safe than sorry.
Hope this helps.

I have also experienced those as well. I read up on it after it happened, because I couldn't speak and I thought it was weird. It called it something like a complicated Migraine because of it messing with your motor functions. Now, I have more problems with my heart fluttering and getting light headed than anything.

I have this as well. Its like I'm in clockwork orange and everything is slow and delayed half the things around me don't make sense, and nothing in my body works automatically. I have to overthink everything and consciously will my body to do the littlest things. It's a little like being under a sedative, except I'm jumpy instead of sleepy. It like I'm still in there functioning normally, but I'm not connecting to my body or brain very well.

Wednesday-

When I have a really "good" migraine, I can't even complete a normal, simple sentence....like "Can you take the dog potty" it sounds like "CAaeda yoeoue tasdke toehe ddoooogeee peowowo uuuuhhhh  hehee heee (that was me laughing at how dumb I sound-and then I try again) paaaaahhhhhttteeeeeeeee????" and then I am exhausted and frustrated at trying to get one sentence out....so I lay down and cry a bit,...and oh how that makes a migraine feel better>!?? eyes
