The FDA recently approved the VNS (used commonlly for epilepsy) for Treatment Resistant Depression. There are also new studies going on for VNS treating migraines and CDH. I called to get info. on being apart of a study. ITs an implantable device that lies just below the skin in the chest, and leads that go to the Vagus nerve in your neck. Its on outpatient procedure done under general anastethia(sp?) I also think that if i don't get into the study, I'm going to pursue it treating depression since I suffer from it as well. Just thought I'd let you know or see if anyone has heard of this, or has one. And if you know of any docs that do the procedure.

Hope all is well fast in the migraine world. ~AngMichelle

I researched it a lot just on the internet, and they statistics look promising. The side effects were raspy voice, lead problems, lead moving, battery moving, some times if malfuction can cause nerve damage to Vagus, choking sensation, some aspiration probs. and of course complications from having any surgery. I know there were more but most were less than 7%. what do you know about it, and can you get those stories for me? I'm really interested in this device. I've heard mostly good things about it. Check out VNStherapy.com
But I do want all the information I can get, good or bad.
