Migraines and food allergies seem to be linked.  After 3 years of hives, I recently found out I have food allergies and was put on a restricted and rotating diet (including no gluten or yeast).  Not only has the diet helped my hives but it has cut my migraine frequency by over 75%.

I've had migraines since my 20's.  They usually seemed linked to hormone fluctuations.  In the last several years I would usually get a minimum of 2 migraines a month - at least one at the beginning of my period and one near the end.  The only thing that would help was Imitrex ... or so I thought.

Since starting this diet over 2 months ago, I've had only one migraine (which, I have to confess, was helped along by too many martinis).  All this time, I thought they were purely hormonal.  I don't fully understand this link, but thought I would pass this finding along.
