Hi everyone my name is Kerri and I have alot of pressure in my head it seems worse in the summertime but I've had MRI's, CTscans, and it seems like every medicine there is and nothing has worked.  I just found this site online and was reading some messages from people and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that I should try.  I've had allergy testing and have alot of allergies but this pressure every day has to stop, its really bad when I sit with my head down and then lift it up, when I get up in the morning, turn my head to fast it seems like anything I do. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. :-)    Thanks

Hi Kerri,

Have you been ill with this pressure? Do you get any pounding? Is your whole head affected?

Don't know if I have any suggestions, but I always try to help. :)

Have you had your eyes checked? They can check your vision and also pressure that can give an indication of a few things to see if you might need further testing.
I have more info but wanted to ask that first...

Yes, I have glasses and actually I need to get a new exam for this year.  I've had numerous CT scans, MRI's, hearing tests, I have lost part of my hearing in my right ear and I have ringing in it every once in awhile.  When my husband was in the Navy I was going to have surgery on the back of my neck/head because when I get headaches theres a vein that swells up and you can fell it throbing but then when I got there they decided against it they were afraid it would do more damage.  I have to do something thats like this morning I had to stand still for a few minutes because of dizziness.  I do have allergies but I'm not taking anything for them it seemed like the shots I was taking didn't help. Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks :-)

KBlueberry, and others; I have had the same sort of thing for 2 summers; It starts about Julywhen the heat gets to about 95degrees; and the heat index gets way up there. It started with a dull headache that wouldn't go away for days. Aspirin, Ibuprofi ; helped a little, but my head still hurt. My doctor is an hour drive away, so I decided to stop into a "Doc in the Box" near my house for a quick blood pressure check, and see if maybe it did have a sinus infection. My blood pressure was 185/110. After I lost my breakfast in their restroom, they wouldn't let me leave. I because sick to my stomach if I get a severe headache. I do not have migraines, but it felt like one. Long story short: I had a CAT scan that was completely normal; they gave me samples for blood pressure medicine, and an antibiotic for my sinus infection. After 2 days, and not much better, I went to my doctor. He is a Homeopathic/Holistic Family Practice Medical Doctor; The best of it all!

He said he had been seeing a lot of this; it was an Anaerobic Bacteria(likes co2, not oxygen) that flares up when the barometer rises(heat/humid/ugh).He had been working with a Dentist, and the had biopsied several patients with these symptoms, and found the culprit. He put me on Clindamycin 150 mg/ 4 times a day for 7 days. He also gave me a Rx for a very mild blood pressure medication. It was amazing how fast I recovered once I was on this antibiotic! After about 6 weeks, I weened off of the blood pressure Rx; I really didn't want to have to take it.

I was so much better; both my head and blood pressure. Well, I didn't have too bad of a time last summer. Surprise, Surprise. Three days ago, I had the same dull headache; around the face and eyes, and some swelling of my face. My blood pressure was 160/100 at the Doc-in-the-Box. It had been higher when I had taken it at work during the day. I really didn't want to go there again. I have a friend that is a Spiritual Healer. I usually see her once a month or so, but had not been able to get in to see her for several months. She was able to rearrange her schedule, and see me. After my Reiki Treatment, I went back and had the same nurse take my blood pressure. It was 120/80. The Doctor that was there heard our conversation; knew it had been high, but now was normal. His comment to me was" well, you certainly know what you need to do".  He never said I needed a Rx for the elevated blood pressure. (there was about a 2 hour time frame from the first and the second blood pressure reading).

The next day, I did go back to my Doctor; He referenced my visit 2 summers ago; promptly gave me the Rx for the antibiotic;checked my blood pressure( 117/70), and said whoever I was going to for Reiki must be pretty good. "Just keep doing what you are doing. It is working".

Now after 2 days of being on the antibiotic, I have no more headache. I have had 2 Reike treatments(Original and the next day). I am going to have another one this morning(day3),mostly because it is Sunday, and easier to schedule than during the week. I will probably go one evening after work, then try to go once a week for a couple of weeks.

I dont know what is available where each of you live, and nor do I know your personal feeling toward this type of alternative medicine. There are way too many side effects with these Rx's that are being handed out like candy. I have tried to adjust my life and get back to a more natural way of life. This is for ME. May not be for you. My Doctor is an MD. I believe he provides for me the best of both worlds.

Good luck.
