Hi i am 45 years old and have had 3 migraines in my life. the first came after my father died in 2000.  he died in july and the first one came in august the 2nd one came the very next month. i wasnt sure what it was. i thought it was a stroke so i drove myself to the ER and thats when a doctor told me iam having a migraine he said his wife had the same symtems. the 3rd one came today while i was working. i checked the web site and found out i have the classic migraine with the aura. today it started in my eyes for 20 min then came the headach on my left side. my question is? will it come in another 5 years? or will they come more often. i get in a panic attack when it happens and very scared.what couses this? i ate bananas for the first time in years and heard this could be it. someone help please?

Hi Jimmy,

Welcome to Healing Well. Firstly I must apologise for not replying before as somehow I missed your post - entirely down to me I'm afraid.

Sorry you have had the migraine back again. Unfortunately it is impossible to say whether it will come back again at all or how frequently!

If it is any consolation my GP gets one migraine around every ten years - oooh that would be wonderful for me, I get between 1 - 5 attacks per week!!!! I know bananas can affect some people, I seem to be able to get away with them!! Chocolate, cheese and most of all citrus are my food triggers and MSG!!

Unfortunately it is not known why some people develop migraine and some don't. But you now have support here, once you have forgiven me for not replying sooner!! lol I am sure there will be others along too!

Let us know how you get on, take care

Ann
