Hello All,

I have just started having the so called Aura effect but thank God without the headache... although the last few have been with a mild head crushing 'pain' which was more like someone crushing my brain rather than my head... if that makes any sense. Alonmg with this or certainly for a day or too after I feel dreadful...weak and confused and very irritable sometimes with a numbness on the side of my face and horrible nausea as if I have food poisoning. I also find it hard to spell and write on the keboard (like right now !!)  This causes much strain in my relationship as I find it hard to function properly. I have discovered that certain things trigger the sickness/tired/wierd feelings such as some sausages Hot Dogs etc... but I dont always get an aura... just feel bad.

I always have a strange stomach 'pain' or fulness which seems to connected to the whole thing.

Does this make any sense to anyone else ???

Please help as I am getting quite depressed over it...

Hi Stressed Chef,

Welcome to Healing Well. Migraine affects the digestive system whereby the stomach stops its normal emptying and is unable to process anything and the stomach contents quite often come back! This can be eased with an anti-emetic drug. It sounds like you are getting many symptoms of Migraine without the pain, some people have the numbness in the face too.

Have you spoken to your Doctor about it or seen a Neurologist? I hope this helps, take care

Thanks for the reply,
I spoke to my Doctor last year but he told me that since I got no pain, there was nothing he could prescribe as all migraine drugs were designed to stop the pain.
I do intend to go back though - especially since things are becomming a bit clearer.
I have been to several doctors regarding my stomach problems and had an endoscopy which showed no problems - of course the pain or rather discomfort continues. I also had several auras over the same period along with many weekends ruined through feeling so bad and depressed - it's only recently through forums like this that I have put them all together.
Thank you.
