Hey! My boyfriend never gets sick, but for the past four days he's had a really bad headache. He can't even look at light.  I know it might just sound like a migraine, but I'm freaking out because he's never sick.. he never gets headaches..should I be worried? sad

Hi Missy Sue,

Welcome to Healing Well. Sorry your boyfriend is having such a tough time at the moment. What has his Doctor said about them? Try not to worry - I know that is easier said than done!!! As this is probably a first attack he does need to see a Doctor to confirm what it is as it has lasted some days.

I hope your BF is okay. He should contact his doctor if he isn't prone to headaches. It could just be a migraine type headache triggered by something but he should get it checked out and get some relief to. My hubby occasionally gets some really bad headaches and I think its blood pressure related.

Dear Missysue,

Anytime an unusual headache comes on, very painful, and lasts for more than several hours, it should be checked out by a doctor.  It could just be a tension headache, but in case it's not, you will be ahead of the game.   Always err on the side of cautiousness.

Best wishes,
