I'mnew on here and saw the migrane forum.. I suffered from undiagnosd migranes for about 10 years.. i mean horrible i could feel my blood pulsing in my head and couldn't function in daily life very well when i had tehm

well after going on and researchingthings on my own i foundthat i am allergicto basicly all artificial sweetners.. aspartame, nutri-sweet, and basically any oth phenylketoneurotics (sp?)

i stopped chewing diet gum or comsuming any other product containing artificial sweetners and haven't had one since... although i have tested the theory just by consuming false sweetners  and even a stick of gum will give me a killer migrane in less than 5 minutes from the time i start chewing it.. diet cola ad everything else is the same

so for anyone that is still searching for answers adn hasn't heard of or thought of this i thought i would try and contribute... from what i found fake sweetners can cause horrible side effects in tons of people including  heavy weight gain

well, hope this tip helps at least one person....

Hi Stuntrider,

Thank you for that, and Welcome to Healing Well. I know I have a problem with aspartame as far as headaches are concerned. This is a timely reminder to all of us to be careful of what we eat that affects our migraines, but of course what will affect one person will not necessarily affect another!

take care

Ann

Does this include Splenda? I had switched from aspartame to Splenda, and did not notice any difference. Which could mean i was not affected by aspartame. (or I am affected both!!)I thought Splenda was a natural substance. Any comments?
