I just wanted to share this as it shocked the hell out of me when I first heard it :)

I try and avoid mixing any combination of fresh orange, red wine, chocolate and coffee (possibly also cheese) as I think combinations of those make me more vulnerable.

However, when I had the terrible migraine I talked of in the Tylex post, I was working on an army barracks and the army doctor told me over breakfast that I should have a cup of coffee. I looked at him in utter disbelief thinking he was probably a bit of a masochist but he explained to me that, although caffeine can be a trigger for some people, once you actually have the migraine coffee can help because it constricts the blood vessels in the head, so reduce the pressure.

At the time I was so unwell I couldn't see anything doing much harm so I did have a cup of coffee. I have to say, I didn't register any noticeable effects but neither did it make it worse.

Just thought it was a curious bit of information I’d pass on.
