I've just found this website and it's comforting to see other people going through the same things.  I've had migraines for years but they've recently been coming on more frequetly, almost daily.  Imitrex works most of the time but I can't get enough to last a whole month.  I just had an x-ray of my back because it feels like they are originating in the upper spine and neck.  The x-ray showed disk compression in my neck and arthritis in my thoracic spine.  I start physical therapy on Monday but I'm skeptical about it actually helping.  Movement only brings one on.  I've tried numerous anti-inflamatory meds. with no effect at all.  I think my primary care doc needs to refer me to a specialist but I'm not sure what kind.  I tried chiropractic for awhile but didn't have any lessening of the frequency of headaches.  I feel like the whole situation is out of control and there's nothing I can do.

Hi Grammyto2,

Welcome to Healing Well. The specialist you need to see is a Neurologist, preferably one who is a Headache Specialist! Talk to you Doctor about this they would know the best person to refer you to, you shouldn't need to tell them.

Hang in there, and go back to your Doctor, you have support here now. Please let us know how you get on.

take care

Ann

:-)  Thank you Ann & ttwarrior for replying.  The chiropractor did adustments to my upper spine & neck.  I may go back because I think that will be more helpful than the physical therapy.  All they did was ultrasound and electro magnetic therapy.  What exactly is magnesium supposed to do?  The last few days have actually been good.  It's the longest stretch I've had with no migraine for as long as I can remember. yeah
