I was thinking last night, and after reading the blogs on this site for the past few days, I wonder what it would take to get a group of serious migraine sufferes to start giving seminars to other sufferes and to doctors.  I think that it is great that they go to professional seminars, but what about them getting to hear first hand what happens from those of us who suffer.  The scientific stuff is great, but maybe if more doctors understood not only the scientific side of it, but the emotional side of it as well we might start getting somewhere.  I wonder if anyone knows how to go about doing this, and how receptive people think this would be.  If a group of us could get through to at least a couple of doctors, it would make it easier for others like us.  I definately want to look into it.  Anyone with me?

Hi spayne,

Here in the UK there are schemes like 'the Professional Patient'. I do not know a great deal about it but from what I can gather these 'Professional Patients' work alongside the medical profession to tell how things are from the 'patients' point of view.

I am going to be away for a few days so when I get back I will look into this a bit more and let you know what I can come up with.

take care

Ann

Hi Spayne,

I would be willing to write a testimony or story about this. Since making "committments" is a problem for me because of these darn migraines, I'm reluctant to avail myself.

You have a wonderful idea here. I wish more people would respond.

K.
