Hi everyone, I have chronic migraine.  At this time I am suffering depression and intense anxiety.  Everything is happening at once and my disability ends 11/30 and I have to find a new job.  Please, if you would take a moment to tell me what you are taking/doing to prevent/treat your migraines.  I want to be informed as I need to take a much more agressive approach to this insideous affliction.  Thank you!

I have tried many meds. nothing seems to work great. I was just on topamax, but the side effects where no good, so I weened myself off of it. obgyn wants to try a low dose of estrogen, because my migraines are also menstral related and nothing touches those headaches. I usually have at least one migrain a week and sometimes 2. I understand your pain.

Hi mercyme, keep me posted on how the BC works for your hormonal migraines. I am 42 and my migraines have become more frequently. I have suspected hormones changing (perimenopause). I tried Topamax twice and it causes increased anxiety for me. Thanks for your reply.

I found that I am sensitive to MSG and this causes my migraines.  I tried to stay away from MSG, but it is in everything.  I was almost always rewarded with a headache when I ate out, because so many restaurants cook with it.  I did find a product on the internet that prevents it.  It is called MSG Buster.  It really works for me.  I am free for the first time in twenty years.  I enjoy life again. :-)

Wow - thanks for the tip.  MSG is definitely a trigger for me.  As long as I eat a bland diet I'm usually okay - no chocolate, no cheese, no dairy, no wine, no MSG.  I'm going to try the MSG busters.

Hi, Hopefulmigrainer ~

Just wondering if you got my lengthy direct e-mail yesterday replying to this subject. I'll be posting much of it eventually in smaller chunks but wanted you to have all that info right away. . .

Yes, I got it. THANKS!!! I ham currently taking the Christian Body supplement. It does seem to be helping but I'm in a life crises now and can't afford the $70/month that it is going to cost to maintain. I'm curious about the xango (sp?) juice. Where do you purchase it?

The Xango brand of mangosteen juice is sold by individual distributors; the Mango-Xan (I think it's called) is available at many health food stores.  I'm not sure if the mangosteen juice would be less expensive than the Christian Body product over the long term or not - in both cases it depends how much you need to take to maintain your well-being.  What I liked about the CB product is that it is specifically designed to address the underlying causes of migraine.  The mangosteen juice addresses many, many conditions - which can be a good thing, though, if you have a number of underlying condition(s) to address.  What I really, really wish is that insurance would cover natural products as well as drugs !!!!!!!
