Hello,
Are you looking for a home remedy??? Because you got the ice-trick down pat!
I don't use over the counter meds anymore... they don't seem to help anything that isn't a normal, roundabout headache. However, my boss is about 65 and she swears on Advil Migraine. It works for her, just not for me.
For migraines I like Imitrex. I take the oral tablets. But you can inject it with a syringe or even a nasal spray.
The nasal spray didn't work for me, but thats me!
So far, Imitrex is my treatment. Its worked for the most part. 50 mg. If I need it, I take 100 mg.
Sometimes though, I'll get a bad one and need to go to the hospital and they give me a shot of Torradol. Not sure what that falls under but it sure makes me go to sleep.
Not a huge fan of narcotics for migraines because they just knock me out and I end up waking up with either the same migraine or a rebound.
Hope I helped!
Mandy
