forms have been filled out for MRI and waiting for eeg to be done as well. Been having boughts of migraine headaches i am going to keep track of them and maybe the MRI will show what is going on, anyway thats the latest the eeg will be able to tell more about brain mapping and stuff so i can get the right meds i guess thats what were aiming at. Other good news my husband got his DZ license today he wants to persue a job driving truck. I also would like to know something i am needing to talk to work about my condition how do i? I not sure if i can without breaking out in tears anyway if someone has advice i would appriciate it thanks Twiggy2.

Hi Twiggy2,

Hopefully you will have a clear MRI result as migraine does not show on an MRI, it is usually done to rule out anything else. I do not know enough about the EEG to comment other than I did not know that migraine would show on there either! But it is good to have a clear result from these tests!

There are a lot of Migraine links with this site to information about migraine and it's impact on a sufferers life which you could print off to show you work colleagues to help them understand that it is not just a 'headache'!!!!!

Glad your husband has got his licence now and can get the job he wants. Please keep in touch Twiggy and let us know how you get on with this?

take care

Ann

Hi Twiggy2 -

I know Annuk made a comment that an MRI does not show migraines, but my neurologist stated that it can. I have several white spots that showed up on my MRI and migraines was one of the possible reason's for the scars per my neurologist. I'm currently being tested for MS and other things, but she did state that severe migraines can scar the brain, which shows up as white spots on a MRI. I, by no means am a medical professional, and am just repeating what my dr told me.

I had an EEG and it basically came back technically normal, but showed shadows (?) which my neurologist feels that may be very minor seizure activity, which we were extremely lucky, because an EEG is only good for measuring something if you are having a seizure from what the EEG tech told me or give a good baseline. So, I'm now on Topamax for minor seizure activity and migraines (kill 2 birds with one stone). I had a LP on the 27th and I'm waiting for the results on that for MS possibilities or anything else that may come my way. Also a sleep deprived EEG is scheduled for March, as well as a 2nd MRI to see if anything else pops up.

I hope everything comes out OK with you! Good luck with everything!

thanks for your post i do believe that i have some form of MS been showing different symtoms off and on now for months back pain, headaches, shaking, prickley feeling in my leg, minor numbeness etc, we will see. The pysch doc is the one how is requesting all of the tests, if in fact that there is something then i can get treated. I shake as if i have miny seizures and my brain waves are sometimes erratic. So they are looking at a few different things, MS, Seizures, Bi Polar, or could be just from by back pain that is causing all the problems? What ever the case may be i will have to accept the outcome. Happy New Year and i will keep u posted in the next few months to let u know. Take care Twiggy2
