Hello,
I notice that a lot of Americans mention that they can't get medications because their insurance doesn't cover them or they can't afford them. As a Canadian I feel terrible for those who suffer. We get a lot of US televesion channels and I often see advertisements for free medications or prescription assistance. I don't know a lot about these, but thought they might be worth pursuing if you're having trouble affording your medications. These are what I found:
Free Medicine Foundation http://www.freemedicinefoundation.com/
Partnership for Prescription Assistance https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php
USRxCard http://www.usrxcard.com/4732
Together Rx Access http://www.togetherrxaccess.com/home.html
Montel Williams seems to have done a lot about obtaining free medications and some of the drug manufacturers offer their medications for free if you meet their criteria. For example, Topamax is made / distributed by Ortho-McNeil Neurologics. There is a click through icon on the Topamax website for Ortho-McNeil Neurologics. When you get to their website they have several click throughs for organizations that provide free medications.
I hope this information helps those that are out there who are having difficulty affording their medications.
