Hello everyone!
I was trying to do some research on this topic.
And I was hoping that I could get some more information.
I get these headaches on the right side of my head and then I get terrible ear aches in my right ear also.
These headaches act up when there is cooler weather and I try to bundle up, wear hoodies scarves etc; but the pain is still there.
I went to my doctor and she mainly focused on the ear aches and she thought it was swimmer's ear because I was in the pool for a bit.
But now that I'm not swimming, the headaches and earaches are coming back.
Usually taking tylenol takes the pain away, but it's really annoying dealing with the pain before the medication takes effect.
Does anybody have any ideas or thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Take care.

Hi zitorocksmyheart,

Welcome to Healing Well, sorry you are suffering with this. I wonder if you could tell me a little more about your headaches. How long do they last and how often do you get them? Do you get any other symptoms with your headaches? Has your Doctor done any investigations about your headaches?

take care

The headaches last for usually about a day and they are only on the right side.
Then they come back a couple days later.
Then there's an earache that also occurs only on the right side as well.
Also, there seems to be some pain and pressure around my right eye.
I told my doctor, but she mostly focused on the earache and checked my ear pressure and she said everything was normal.
She thinks my earache is because of swimmer's ear but I haven't been in the pool for a really long time.
Thanks Ann!

Has your Doc referred you on to an ENT Consultant to have your ears checked out further? Although your ear pressure is normal and that is good, and I do not pretend to know anything as I am not qualified as I am not a Doctor, but I would prefer to be thoroughly checked out if it were me!!!

take care

Hi zitorocksmyheart,

From what you say your simptoms are...look into Occipital Neuralgia to see if that sound like you. I have had this now for over a year and a half. With the headaches only being one sided and the pressure behind the same side eye it does sound like this is your problem as well. Only I do not get the ear pain.

Does your pain originate from the back side of your head on the right side at the base of your scull between your ear and spine? Can you follow it up to the front of your head like following a piece of thread all the way to the top of your right eyebrow...and feel pressure all the way to the back of your eyesocket like someone is pushing it from the inside. I hope not! But, if you can it defenatly sounds like what I have and the doctors tell me that it is Occipital Neuralgia.

Let me know,

Rick
