I am new to HW and have some questions that I was hoping someone could help me with. I have been diagnosed with the following:

Sarcoidosis, Heart Palpatations, Renal Insufficiency, Adrenal Insufficiency,GERD, IBS, Hashimoto Thyroiditis, Hypolycemia, dizzyness, depression, decrease in oxygen saturation and inflammation in joints and muscles.

I take the following meds: Effexor, Diltiazem, Flonase, ASA, Hydrochlothiazide, Cortef, Tramadol, Prevacid, Levoxel, Tricor, Lodine and Oxygen 2.5 ltrs at night

In August I started having this pain on the top right part of my head. It is tender to the touch and when I bend down or if I do ANYTHING strenous I am in so much pain that it makes me sick to my stomach. In September it got to the point where I passed out in the dr office and ended up in the hospital for 4 days. I had an MRI, Lumbar Puncture, CAT scan and numerous blood tests. The neurologist at the hospital was a pompas ***. They found that I have 3 herniated discs in my neck and 2 bone spurs. They also found that I have narrowing of the right cerebral artery. I went thru more tests and 2 months of therapy and nothing helped. I finally went to another Neurologist who dx me with "ice pick migraines" and gave me Gabapentin 300mg a day. The pain is not as frequent but still there. The bad thing is I am so tired all the time that I sleep for 10-12 hrs a night and I doze all day. Should I call the dr to let him know this or is this something else I just have to put up with.

I would appreciate any and all help any of you can give me!

Thank you

Christy

Wow, so sorry you suffer from so much. You know, I would like that with all those Dx's you would be fatigued anyway. Maybe your body needs the extra sleep to regroup.
I do understand the frusation, and lack of fuction with this. If it is too bothersome, do indeed ask your doctor. There are lots of meds. to try for migraines.
i do wish you the best.
Is there anyway to explain your dx's?? If its too long feel free to email me, its in my profile. I love learning of new things, so i can better understand. Thanks, and I hope you have a good weekend.

ps. basically the one I don't know of is Hashimoto...
After I sent the last post, I remembered what sarcoidosis is, so no need to explain.

Ang,

Hashimoto Thyroiditis is the and autoimmune resonse with the thyroid. It is practilly non-functioning. The sarcoidosis has disturbed the function of the thyroid, adrenal glands and the kidneys which all work together.

Thank you for the support!

Hi Eviltang,

I am so sorry you are going through all this and are now starting with headache as well!!!! Talk to your Doc again as the drowsiness may well be a side effect of the Gabapentin, or if not a side effect of the combined effect of that and other drugs you take!!!

If it is problematic you should not have to put up with it, and your Doc should be able to find something else to help you!!

Please let us know how you get on, take care

Ann
