I've been having a lottt of headaches the past year or two. There's always been at the veryy least, 2 per week. Now, it's been an entire week and every single day I've had a headache. It hasn't happened like this for a while. I've told my mom over and over but she just won't set an appointment with a neurologist. ***!? mad confused

Hey J-Lynn,

Just wondering, but how old are you?  You mentioned your mother having to make an appointment for you.  Have you been diagnosed with any particular kind of headache?  Have you been to a neurologist before?  Do you take any medications?  If so, what are they, how much do you take, and how often?  By answering these basic questions, it will be much easier to provide you with information that could help with your situation.

I have a few ideas about what is going on, but I don't want to give you a bunch of information that might head you in the wrong direction.

Let us know the scoop and we'll get right back to you.

I am 15 about to be 16. I have no been to a neurologist before but I really think I should. My mom, who is a nurse, said that they are just migranes but I think there has to be more to it if I get them this often.

Hi J-Lynn! I've been having a lot of headaches recently too :( Maybe an appointment with your primary care doctor is in order. S/he will be able to determine if you need further testing.

Also, perhaps start a headache journal - write down when your headache happen and what was going on in the few hours before, like what you ate, were you stressed, etc. This will help the doctor and more importantly, your mom, see that there actually is a problem. I need to start one of these as well...

Good luck! I hope you find some relief soon.

Hey J-Lynn,

I started having Migraine attacks when I was eight. Over the years, I've gone from one or two every few months, to two or three a week. The increased frequency over the years doen't have any explanation, it just happens. I wouldn't be concerned about this, as it is fairly normal.

Keep us updated on how you are doing.
