Hey everyone.  Does anyone know anything about a Headache Clinic in Tampa, FL (at Tampa General, I believe) or in Chicaga?  Seems like I remember reading a post about some headache something in Chicago but can't remember what it was.  Also, has anyone heard of a Dr. Kellam in Altanta, GA that is a headache/migraine specialist?  My neurologist had mentioned the Atlanta doc to me several times and today recommended both Atlanta and Tampa and/or Chicago to her.  Any thoughts???

Thanks!

all my neuro's told me to go to Chicago, the Diamond Clinic because they don't know what else to do with me.
Its takes a long time to see Dr. Diamond himself, but they work with you.
They take a lot of insurance too.

Hi there, the headache clinic you are thinking of in Chicago is the Diamond Headache Clinic. I have been there 3 times so far, and I haven't gotten any relief, we are trying diffeent meds, I have been on Verapamil and had too many side effects before I even got to a theraputic dose, then I tried another beta blocker (can't remember the name just that it cost $957.44 a mo, that didn't work either, now I am on vivactil along with my topomax and zomig, I haven't had a headache in a week which is really something for me, I usually get 2 a week that last 2-3 days, so maybe this is a huge breakthrough for me. I hope so, I have suffered with classic migraines for 10 years! I have found that nothing works and I am at a point where I just want to give up and just live with them. I hope the info helps. Try them out. I really like the Dr. I saw. Good luck.

DX: Bipolar, Fibromyalgia, Classic Migraines, GERD, Asthma

Meds: Effexor, Klonopin, prilosec, zyflamed, toradol injectable, zomig, vivactil, advair and albuterol

Pardenme:  Can you tell me what kind of side effects you had with the Verapamil?  It is so hard to tell which med is causing which side effect - I would like to know what the Verapamil did?  Thanks.
