I'm working on it--I'm sure several people here will tell you it's possible also. From what I can tell (I'm four and a half months waiting on my claim), having doctors that'll write good detailed reports is important. And consider using a lawyer or service, depending on your needs; chances are very high that you'll have to reapply at least once even if you have a very good claim. But having an experienced advocate reaaaaly increases your chances.
So, in short, I'm sure you have a legitimate claim but it often comes down to whether you want to wait for the money (in the reapplication process) or put some dough out front for some help. That's my 2 cents, from what I've gathered, hopefully others here can tell you more.
