This is a strange head-ache...

I can't touch my scalp as it is sore to do so. If I frown, so as my scalp moves it gives pain on my scalp. It can feel like I am putting a needle to my head.

Is this head pains or tension or?

rtuk, I experienced this for over 2 months and was out of work because of it. I couldn't get away from the pain. Even my hair touching my face hurt. I went to a neurologist and was told I had trigeminal neuralgia - more of a facial pain. I had mri's and cat scans and bloodwork, ya da ya da ya da and everything came back fine. Finally I saw the PA there - which I'm not too fond of PA's. She was amazing! I didn't have trigeminal neuralgia at all. I have what's called paroxysmal hemicrania - you can google that. I tried a couple different meds, but what finally worked was Effexor. She says you have to break the cycle of pain wit something first - Effexor - and you should be golden!  It's been 4 weeks and I haven't had the pain or sensitivity. It's WONDERFUL to finally be free of it! Hope that helps you at least start somewhere!

    Good luck! tongue
