Last week I had my facet joint pain block to see if I would be a good candidate to have my nerve endings burned. I did get some relief so we went with the procedure. It wasn't as painful as last week, but it was no walk in the park either. The needle sticking wasn't that painful, but the burning of the nerves was, especially the last set. I attribute that to perhaps maybe that is where the pain stems from.

Anywhoo, I must say that the aftermath was the worst. When it was done I almost felt as if the needles were still in because I felt I couldn't move. The pain was and still is that bad. I was in tears because it hurt so bad. I told them and they said it is normal because they heat the nerves to 80 degrees Celcius.

Anyway, they gave me two shots of Toradol in my IV and sent me home. They said it would take up to 4 weeks to feel relief, so that is when I go back. I am also supposed to take my musle relaxer, along with vicaden for the pain. And of course I am putting ice in the area for swelling and pain.

I go back in 4 weeks for a follow-up. Yesterday was the first day in months I didn't have a headache. I am not sure if it was from the procedure or if I was just having a good day, but I will certainly take it!
