Okay, so it has been almost four weeks since they burned the nerve endings in my neck in hopes of no more head and neck pain from my whiplash to no avail. The first week was my best week in the last 7 and a half months, but since then, it hasn't been good. In fact, it has been terrible! I had a few moderate days here in there, but mostly severe.

Monday was a decent day so I figured I would do my neck strengthening exercises they taught me to do in physicaly therapy, you know, the ones that are supposed to help me. Well, I woke up Tuesday feeling horrible, a 8 out of 10. My Relpax didn't work, and neither did the vicaden. I take the topamax, Cymbalta, and Skelaxin (muscle relaxer) as normal as well. Still today it is bad, in fact worse, a 9 out of 10. For the last month I have slept fine, at least 8 hours a night, but yet I am always tired and lethargic. The last tow days I have felt nauseated. My head feels like it is going to explode, and my neck is killing me.

I have spoken with some one who I met on a different forum who was reently in a car accident and had a cervical fusion done due to a bulging disc. She befriended her physical therapist who was in a car accident four years ago, so they can both relate. They both seem to feel that I have a bulging disc or something. I had an MRI a few months back and it came out normal. Is it possible that I could have this? I don't have any numbing or tingling sensation. I just have horrible migraine/tension headaches. They start at the base of my skull and of course go from one temple across my forehead to the other temple. Some times the pain is deep inside my head, like it is the nerve pain. My shoulders feel tense and fatigued as well.

I have a follow-up with the anethesiolgist on Monday but I did put in a call today to let him know how terrible I feel in hopes he can do more testing to see if it is my disc, and to see if he has better pain medicine. I am in so much pain. I have no sick leave so I have to suffer through this at work. It jsut isn't fair!

Thanks for listening to me rant and rave! I hope this is over soon! I hope they can figure out what is wrong with me soon and fix it!

So the doctors office finally called back after 9 hours and he doesn't want to change anything until I see him on Monday. So now stronger pain meds or muscle relaxers. SO in the meantime I am in extreme pain and have to suffer through the weekend. THis is terrible! I know that something is not right here and i hate to have to wait until Monday and I am sure, other than medication there is nothing he can do but refer me. SO once again, I am getting out off. It is so frustrating. I have been pushed away by so many doctors. I am really thinking it has to do with a disk because no matter which way I turn my head, it hurts. Nothing I do gives me relief. And my head hurts so bad at the base of my skull and across my temples and forehead. It just feels like my head will explode.

Hi holmesla,

So sorry to hear you are still suffering so much. If you are suffering this much pain you need to go to the hospital over the weekend and see what they can do for you as a temporary measure - no-one shoul have to suffer like this!!!

I hope you get some relief soon.

take care

Ann
