Hi everyone.  I just got back from being admitted overnight to the hospital for a very weird type of headache - I had a squeezing sensation (not pain, just pressure) in the left part of my head and then it would subside for a few seconds.  The it would repeat...This kept on occurring for three hours!  It was nerve wracking.  A friend took me to the hospital and my Ct scan came back normal.  Has anyone had this kind of brain sensation?  I am looking for some understanding of this very strange occurrence.  The doctors thought it might be a TIA but not other symptoms displayed...I have been under stress, could that be a stress reaction?  I appreciate any feedback to make me feel better and to help me understand.

Hi teacher1976,

I think I experience a similar sensation to what you have experienced. The way I would describe it is as if someone is squeezing part of my brain with a slight tingling sensation running across the surface of my brain. It mainly affects the left side of my head, although recently I have noticed in the right side. I experience this from time to time, and maybe several times a day. I must admit that although I see a headache specialist I have never mentioned this to him, maybe I should!!

Hi teacher and Kala,

It is essential that you both keep a record of every sensation you get in your headache diaries as well as any pain. Dates times, every last thing must be logged and shown to your Doc!

It is very difficult to diagnose exactly what is happening with some headaches and the more detail you can give the better!!

Teacher - I am glad your CT came back clear as it rules out a lot of nasties and that should make you feel better. I am sorry you are experiencing this and hope the Docs get to the bottom of it very soon.

take care
