i am a bodyworker.....and am going to attempt to relieve this issue that i have never experienced before through massage trigger point therapy ... but thought it might be a good idea to ask anyone if they've experienced this.

i don't get headaches, am 31 F, athletic, healthy .... yesterday i got a little sore throat, which wast then followed by a throbbing pain in my ear, and then into my head ( only on the right ) and down my neck into my trapiezius insertion on my medial scapula which is really tender. the whole area is tender to touch. my skin, my scalp. every 15 seconds or so there is a wave of pain. ibuprofen covered it temporarily, but i am nervous that it could be something else since i don't get headaches.

if this sounds like anything you may have heard of , please share. it's only been going on for 2 days, but it's scary and SO uncomfortable.

thank you.

Hi itserica,

Welcome to Healing Well. Sorry to hear you are suffering with this. We do not have any medical training here as we are all sufferers of some sort of headache, so we are unable to diagnose but just give a personal opinion.

To that end I can only suggest that you see your Doctor about this as it is difficult to judge what sort of headache it could be, it could even be a trapped nerve! Sorry I cannot be of more help. Please let us know how you get on?

take care

Ann
