Hi Freezing,

Sounds good to me!!! Prednisone should give you a pain break, but it is only meant for short term treatment - got a funny feeling that it should be 60mg per day for CH - it is 30mgs for migraine!! For clusterheadache you should have 60mg for 5 days and then slowly tapered down over a couple of weeks!!! Please go back to your doctor about this? For migraineurs the dose is 30mg per day for five days only!!

It is a sad fact that most Docs except a Neuro who is a headache specialist, do not understand or do not have much knowledge about clusterheadaches! So sorry to hear you have this condition!!

Hope you can get some pain free time with this, but please check your dosage with your Doctor. Are you and Episodic Clusterheadache sufferer (do you have one or two bouts per year)or are you Chronic? I work on a helpline here in the UK for Clusterheadache, please feel free to email me if you need any info!

take care

Ann

Thanks Ann, yes they are 40's for 5 days but I have never had cluster headaches before that I really know of, there not to bad right now but they do come and go though the day and going on now for almost 4 weeks now and when I went to the ER they had to google it can you believe that!!!!!!!!

I haven't taken anything yet and I don't recall them saying I need to taper off of it as well can you believe that.
