Hey Everyone...

I just wanted to come let those who know about my eye probs what is happening. Uppity did some great research for me recently and some of u may know that just this week i've had some seriously harsh pain. I called for an appt with a new doc who is actually the doc for my mother in law. I'll see him in the morn and will update this tomorrow afternoon. I know this is off topic (not ms), but thought i'd share anyway. Thanks to those who've checked on me and offered all the help u have. As u can prob imagine, i'm so ready for some relief. Thanks again!

Uppity.. I have that info from those sites printed and ready to go! Thanks again!

Rhonda,

Best of luck with the new doctor.  As I have had pain behind the eye, I can somewhat relate.  Its been too long for you.  I hope you get some answers, and more important, some relief.

Hey Everyone

Thanks for u'r support here. It has been much needed. I did see the new doc today and he gave me some different results than i've had before. I have early Optic Neuritis and will have to have a spinal tap and new MRI's asap. He will forward all his notes and a dictated letter to my neuro and is expecting my neuro to return to him the results of my tests. After those results or if my vision gets any worse, he's going to use iv steroids, but at this time he wants to just wait until the tests are performed. He didn't want to give me anything for the pain...he wants to see if it's ms and treat accordingly if so. He seemed quite sure of the ms possibility calling my symptoms and presentation (of my eye prob) 'highly suspect for ms' and went so far as to discuss with me the ms drugs that were avail now and then suggested i get right on one of them if the results are positive for ms. So there u have it. I've spent all this time telling u all that this will all be ok and to hang in there...but now i see it's not so easy. I'm scared. I have known that the possibility of ms did exist, but it has been a very far away possibility. Now it's much more real for me. I was just deciding that i didn't have ms and wouldn't ever be dx'd with it...now it's suddendly back on my plate. I know this is no dx and not even as far down the dx process as many of u in limbo with me have been, but for me it's big and real and scary. Thanks for u'r support friends

Oh, Rhonda, I'm sorry!  I was so hoping it was "just" some form of migraine, and treatable, once they figured out which one it was...

Take care.  Life with MS ain't easy, but it isn't the end of the road, either.  And you know we'll be here for you.

Hey Soul Sister,

I am so sorry!! I know you are scared.  Please know that I am here for you.  Know that we are all here for you.  We will stay right here and see you through all of this.  You have done more than your fair share of supporting us with all of our trials.  Now it is our turn to return the favor.  Lean away!!!!

I love you so much.  Just take good good care.  Take it one day at a time and when that stops working, take it one hour at a time.

Much love always,

Rhonda,

I too wished for some type of migraine.  I am sorry you are suffering.  Like G said, MS isn't easy, but we're all in this together.  You have always been so supportive, not we will be here for you.  Sounds like a good doctor who is very proactive in finding what is wrong, and fixing it.  I hope all your results come back fast, and you get some relief.

Hugs,
Debbie

Rhonda,

I hate that you are going through this. It is okay to be scared. However, please remember you are not doing this alone…we are all right here with you, and for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime.

Rhonda,
Praying for you. This is a step in the right direction though. If you can name the disease you are better able to fight the blasted thing. Your dr sounds great. Rest up.

Hi Rhonda,

I am so sorry that this has been such a rollercoaster for you. When doctors keep messing you about, it messes with your head and thats really not fair. I hope that you get what you are hoping for from the doctor.

Thinking of you

Sorry you are going through the dx rollercoaster. You were so supportive of me when I was doctoring for possible MS and I really appreciated it. I hope they can give you some answers this time and you get some relief from the pain.

Hey Everyone

Thank u all soooo much! U've all been thru so much u'rselves, yet here u are offering me support. Thanks so much to u all.

I called my neuro's office this morn to explain the situation and ask them to have these tests scheduled as soon as they were able. The woman with whom i spoke said she'd give him the info and let him know to expect my eye doc's info, but suspected he'd still want to see me in the office before ordering those tests. I don't mind the office visit, but i'd really like to just get these tests set up and move on this. I can visit him in his office afterward to discuss results as well. Seems to be a needless use of time that can be better used getting this moving. Now i'm still having this eye pain ...tho it's not to it's worst yet...and i'm not sure of taking those meds i was taking. So i'll make a call about that this morn too. My eye hurts to move it so of course that builds up and then i'm back to that worst pain...so i don't want to not be able to take anything. U all get the pic. Thanks so much again for just being here and holding me up friends. I hope u will know as u read this just how much it's meant to me.

Hey Again

The doc's office just called me and set the appts for me! I"m so glad they did that and didn't make me wait until i'd seen him in office first. So my mri (brain only) is set for Feb 4th and the spinal tap is Feb 6th. I'll be sure to come back and update once this is completed and i have some results. Thanks again everyone!

Rhonda,

That is awesome that they got the tests all scheduled.  It's really just after the weekend, but that is easy for me to say.  Sounds like you need to lay back, put your feet up, maybe a warm compress on the eye and listen to a book on tape, or maybe a mediation tape to help relax.  Hey, I know how stupid that must sound, lay back and relax, been there done that, but since I can't give you a hug, and help you out down there, that's the best I could think of.  When I've given in and taken care of myself it does help.

I really feel for you, you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Wish I could take on some of the pain for you.

Hugs,
Debbie

Rhonda,

I’m so glad you have your appts set. I know even a few days wait must seem like an eternity, especially since you are in so much pain as well. You will get through this though, and whatever lies ahead! I wish you didn’t live so far away, but just know I am sending you virtual hugs and grape popsicles….

Rhonda, I had not checked out the forum for a few days so I did not know what was going on.  redface I hope you know that I do care, and I am sending good thoughts down to Mississippi.  I know it is scary to hear that possible MS dagnosis.  I am glad that you are able to get the tests done fairly quickly and I am praying that you get some relief from the pain soon.

Take care,

Barb

Hey Everyone....

Yet another quick update. The company doing the MRI had a cancellation this afternoon so i got to go have that done today! Of course i'm playing medical detective and trying to see what's maybe there or not there on my images. I'm busily comparing them to the first mri's i had about two years ago. I'm not a doc...clearly i know nothing about what i'm doing...but i do see some differences in the images. There are some white spots in places there were none before. I'm not getting worked up or anything...as i said...i know nothing...but i am going at least just know what things seem to look like. Thanks sooo much everyone!!! U guys are so great!!!!
