Hello. My name is Elizabeth and I am new to the MS forum. I havent been officially diagnosed yet but I am due to go to a neurologist this week. My symptoms include: headaches, tiredness, and both my arms mostly my left I get the pins and needles and the numbness and I have ongoing shoulder pain.. Any of this sound familiar to anyone else? I know absolutely nothing about MS but if I am diagnosed will definately do my research. Good luck and God bless everyone in dealing with this disease.
I'm sorry you're having problems! Seeing a neurologist seems like a good place to start. He's likely to have you undergo all sorts of tests, including blood tests, to rule out other things that could be causing your problems, including having an MRI, and maybe evoked potential tests.
You might want to go to this website -- www.nmss.org -- the National Multiple Sclerosis Society web page, to do some reading.
In preparation for your doctor visit you might want to write down when these symptoms started, whether there is anything else you can think of that might be a factor (accident? illness? injury?), and your medical history (any major illnesses that required doctor involvement, other than the usual colds, flu, that sort of thing?)
Good luck, and let us know how your visit goes!
