yeah  Hello all,

I hope all is well in everyones world! I spoke to a friend of mine who has had MS for 20 years. She has been on the copaxone and loves the drug, She went to see her neurologist yesterday and was told that the copaxone is going to be manufactured in pill form in the next three years. I don't know if this is true, I assume it is why would she make it up. That would be awesome wouldn't it? I would love to take a pill rather then inject myself! I have to go to my neuro on friday beacuse he wants to discuss my lab work regarding my avonex...not quite sure what that means, and I am a bit nervous because my neuro doesn't usually make me come in for results unless there is a problem. But positive attitude is all i can have and hope for the best. I am quitting smoking, It has been 3 days...GO ME! Up and down with the mood but i have a lot of support and know i will get more from all of you!

Let me just say that i love this forum! I feel so supported by all of you and hope i can offer the same to you!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Congrats on quitting smoking Lindsay! 3 days is great, keep up the good work.  yeah

The last I heard about Copaxone in pill form was a few years ago, when clinical trials were discontinued due to lack of success. Here is some info from back then:

I’d love to know if anyone has any newer info. It really would be great if they could get this to work. I think there are/were several oral MS meds in clinical trials, which is encouraging.

I hope your neuro appt goes well. Please come back and give us an update.

Keep up the good work! (The stopping smoking thing!) I'd love it if any of these drugs came out in pill form! That would be awesome indeed. I haven't seen anything about it, but if I do, I'll try to post it.

Wow, big congrats on quitting smoking, dealin! I applaud anyone who decides to do that because you're doing wonders for yourself quitting and every little bit helps!

And that's exciting to me about Copaxone in pills too... cos everything I'm reading about these drugs is shots and I'm not crazy about that so being new to the dx, pills is good news... looking forward to whatever you find out.

Hey Dealin,

Great job on the no smoking. I know its hard but you can do it. I'm going on 3 years and i did it cold turkey. I ate tootsie pop lollipops when i felt i wanted to smoke. It works, try it. I still stop for some when we go out at night, just incase, lol.  The urge is still with me. But just say no, lol. Good luck! You can do it.

Peace,

Lynn

Hey Lindsay,

I am in a research trial now in Orlando, I am in the avonex-copaxone shot trial. However at the clinic there were four trials to chose from and three of them were oral medications to treat MS, I don't recall specifically if they were Copaxone. I talked to a lady in the trial and she said it seems to be going well, so basically, I know that pill forms of treatment are in the works and I know my doctor anticipates that they will be available within the next several years to start treatment. So I hope that helps. Congrats on not smoking...I know it's quite a challenge.

Congrats on the stopping smoking!

I'm going to begin this next week. I'll be using Chantrix and stocking up on lollipops too lol!

Putting some of these meds into pills would be a great stride for certain!

thanks
